Iconic map of the Nile Valley, from Philae to Denderah. The drawing is in portrait format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The landscape depicts a valley crossed by the Nile River. Several buildings have been erected on its banks. In the foreground is the island of Philae, dedicated to Isis. The second island is Elephantine. On the opposite bank are the pink granite quarries of Aswan. In the third bend of the Nile, we find Kom-Ombo (east bank) and the double temple of Sobek and Haroéris, then further on Edfou (west bank), the domain of Horus, El-Kah (east bank), Esna (west bank). In the distance, you can see the Theban region with Karnak and Louqsor.
