Aerial view of the Christian quarter of Hippo Regius (Annaba), 5th c. The drawing is in landscape format. It is arranged within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The district features a number of religious buildings set amidst residential areas. The basilica can be seen on the right. The edifice is built on a basilical plan. Three naves lead to a semicircular apse. The baptistery and an apse chapel (probably the consignatorium, used to administer confirmations) are located on the southern flank. A trefoil chapel is on the left of the drawing.
