Presentation :

Aerial view of the Gournay sanctuary under a night sky. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The temple is set inside a rectangular enclosure, enclosed by a wooden palisade.
This is reinforced by a moat filled with water on the outside and a moat filled with carcasses and weapons on the inside. A two-bay quadrangular portal is the only way into the sanctuary. The jambs are decorated with skulls. Wooden posts are planted on the land surrounding the temple. They are decorated with trophies of arms. The wooden temple is built over a large central pit. A figure stands before it.
