Aerial view of the Sphinx and the Cheops and Chephren Pyramids of Giza. The drawing is in portrait format and has no frame. The landscape is painted on a sheet of paper that has been cut and pasted onto another sheet representing the sky. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
In the foreground stands the monumental sphinx of Giza, bearing the effigy of Pharaoh. To the left, the pyramid of Chephren, with its long ramp. To the right, the pyramid of Cheops, preceded by three satellite pyramids, including that of Queen Meritates, and a field of mastabas.
