Aerial view of the construction of the Mykerinos pyramid in Giza. The drawing is in landscape format, organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The landscape is depicted at dusk. Several pyramids stand on the Giza plateau. On the right is the pyramid of Cheops, preceded by three satellite pyramids, including that of Queen Meritates, and a field of mastabas. To its right is the pyramid of Chephren. Access is via a raised ramp, preceded by the monumental Sphinx of Giza. On the far left of the drawing, a pyramid is under construction. This is the pyramid of Mykerinos. Four access ramps allow materials to be transported. A port facility, visible in the lower right-hand corner, enables the supply of materials. In the lower left-hand corner is a residential area, “the city of the Pyramids”.
