Low-angle view of the construction of the Pont du Gard bridge. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The bridge, or aqueduct to be more precise, crosses the Gardon River. It consists of two first levels with semicircular arches. Cranes and wooden hangers help the workers to lay the arches’ keystones.
