Aerial view of the Late-Empire castrum at Epomanduodurum (Mandeure). The drawing is in landscape format. It is arranged within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The castrum is set within a moat and a semicircular fortified enclosure of seven towers. It is located along the Doubs River. A main road runs through it, leading to two monumental gates that provide access to the quays or the town. Fields and farms are all around.
