Front view of the façade of the Artemisia in Ephesus (Ephesus). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The temple stands on a stylobate with several tiers. A sacrificial altar stands in front of it, in the foreground. The façade of the Temple of Artemis features Ionic columns. The column shafts are adorned with historiated bas-reliefs. The columns support a pediment, of which only the decorated tympanum is visible. The pronaos gives access to the naos. At the far end of the naos stands the statue of Artemis.
