Presentation :

Aerial view of the construction of the enclosure of the Temple of Horus at Edfu. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The temple stands within a fortified enclosure under construction. Workers on scaffolding are in charge of its construction. The entrance is via a huge, ornate pylon and opens onto a courtyard surrounded by a portico. This leads to a large hypostyle hall. The sanctuary extends to the rear. In the lower part of the drawing, you can see the town of Ombo and its necropolis on the left.
