Presentation :

Aerial view of the Temple of Horus at Edfu. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The temple stands within a fortified enclosure. The entrance is via a huge, ornate pylon, which opens onto a courtyard surrounded by a portico. This leads to a large hypostyle hall. The sanctuary extends to the rear. The city of Ombos and its necropolis can be seen on the left-hand side of the drawing. On the right, a sacred lake and the temple annexes can be seen.
