Front view of the temple of Apollo at Didimae (Didymes). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The Greek temple stands on a seven-step stereobate. Its façade is composed of ten Ionic columns with fluted shafts. They support an entablature featuring a colorful frieze of alternating mascarons and festoons. The building is crowned by a triangular pediment, with a tympanum decorated with bas-reliefs. A statue stands atop the roof. Acroteria adorn the corners of the roof. Figures enter the temple. Statues (?) are placed at the foot of the building.
