Aerial view of Delphi in the 2nd century. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. The margins have been cut off. Only the left margin has been preserved. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city is located on the slopes of Parnassus. The sanctuary of Athena Pronaia is located in the lower part of the drawing. It comprises a temple and a tholos. A little higher up is the gymnasium. It is built on two levels, with the palestra and baths below, and the xystre and paradromis above. Apollo’s sanctuary is located in the upper part of the drawing. A stadium overlooks it.
