Aerial view of the Dachour necropolis at the end of the Middle Kingdom. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink.
The drawing is divided in two by the Nile. The upper part features a verdant landscape, while the lower part presents a desert landscape with a necropolis. Several pyramids stand out. The oldest is shown in the southern, lower part of the drawing. It is the rhomboid pyramid of Snefru. It is flanked to the west by the Red Pyramid of Snefru, to the east by the Pyramid of Amenemhat III, and to the north by the Pyramid of Amenemhat II. At the center of these four pyramids is a civil necropolis, made up of several rectangular tombs lined up in a row. The last pyramid, that of Sesostris III, can be seen along the Nile, accompanied by three satellite pyramids.
