Presentation :

Aerial view of the Byrsa district of Carthago (Carthage). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
This is the neighborhood built on the hill of Byrsa, near the temple of Eshmoun. The dwellings occupy the slopes of the hill and are built in regular tiers. They are organized around a central courtyard that serves the various rooms in the house. The drawing represents the activities of the inhabitants.
