The city is located on a peninsula on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is surrounded by a fortified wall. You can make out its two ports, the merchant and military, the public square of the agora, and the hill of Byrsa with the temple of Eshmoun. In the distance is the rural suburb of Megara, with its lush market gardens.
