Aerial view of Carcassonne. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The lower town is in the lower part of the drawing. Houses are built within a fortified enclosure. A bridge crosses the river Aude. The citadel is shown in the upper part of the drawing. It stands on a promontory, within a double crenellated enclosure punctuated by towers. The château comtal and the basilica of Saint-Nazaire are located along the wall. Both towns are surrounded by cultivated fields.
