Aerial view of the Temple of Rome and Augustus at Caesarea Maritima (Caesarea). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and graphite are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The temple is located on a promontory facing the sea. It is reached by a grand staircase from the port, but also by two other staircases on the sides. These lead to the temple through a covered colonnade that surrounds the temple on three sides. The temple is set in the middle of a garden.
