Aerial view of Burdigala (Bordeaux) in the 4th century. The drawing is in landscape format. It is
organized within a frame drawn in ink, except at the bottom edge. Traces of watercolor
are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city, at the center of the drawing, is bounded by a quadrangular enclosure. The Garonne River
represented in the lower section. The inner harbor, the Navigère basin, extends
of the city. The amphitheatre can be seen in the upper right-hand section of the drawing.
