Aerial view of Bordeaux’s grand theater, 18th c. The drawing is in portrait format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city’s grand theater stands at the intersection of two roads. Its façade features a portico of twelve Corinthian columns topped by a balustrade adorned with statues. The surrounding streets are lined with buildings organized around inner courtyards. On the left is Château Trompette. It resembles a bastioned citadel with glacis. The Garonne flows in the background. Ships ply the waters.
