Behind a wooden palisade stands the washhouse. The rectangular building features several basins. Its high framework rests on piers. Figures are washing cloth in canvas bags. A pipe discharges wastewater into a secondary basin. In the lower right-hand corner, a vast garbage dump fills the space. Various objects can be seen, particularly ceramics such as amphorae.
