Presentation :

Aerial view of the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. A sketch of a church facade and another sketch are visible in the upper part of the drawing. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
In the foreground, the château stands on an island in the Indre River. It is close to the town, fortified by a wall, visible in the background. A stone bridge with several arches crosses the Indre, linking the château to the town. The building consists of a U-shaped main building arranged around an inner courtyard. Two bridges provide access to the outbuildings and formal gardens, located on nearby islands.
