Aerial view of Avaris and Pi-Ramsès. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The landscape is depicted at night. A city is organized in the center of the drawing, on a central island in the middle of the Nile. To its left is the island of Avaris. The royal residence of Pi -Ramses stands within a quadrangular enclosure. A second enclosure, with towers, contains a fort. The island on the right features port facilities and a residence, the Palace of Ramses. The palace is enclosed by a wall and comprises several successive central courtyards. Surrounding it are stables, barracks and the Temple of Amun. In the distance, the Nile delta continues.
