The royal residence of Pi -Ramses stands within a quadrangular enclosure. A second enclosure, with towers, contains a fort. The island on the right features port facilities and a residence, the Palace of Ramses. The palace is enclosed by a wall and comprises several successive central courtyards. Surrounding it are stables, barracks and the Temple of Amun. In the distance, the Nile delta continues.
