Presentation :

Frontal view of the interior of a protohistoric house in Arles. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor, inscriptions and additional drawings (sketches) in graphite are visible in the margins.
In the foreground, three women are seated on a mat around a fireplace. Two of them are cooking in pots, while the third is stoking the fire with kindling. A dog observes the scene. At the far end of the room, a child is arranging containers on a shelf. Above him, various foodstuffs hang: herbs, fish (tuna). Ceramic crockery is also stored on a high shelf. In the right-hand corner of the room, a carved log allows you to climb onto a straw mattress. The open door reveals a figure on a cart.
