Aerial view of the port and town of Aquileia (Aquileia). The drawing is in landscape format. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The city is located on the banks of a river. In the lower part of the drawing, we can make out the harbor activity, with its boats and warehouses. The city extends inside a fortified enclosure. You can see the cardo, the north-south axis along which the forum was built. The circus, amphitheatre and theater were built close to the ramparts. The plain stretches out into the distance, crossed by the river.
