Presentation :

Aerial view of Alexandria (Alexandria). The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame.
The city lies between the Mediterranean Sea, visible in the lower part of the drawing, and the shores of Lake Maréotis, visible in the upper part. It is set within an immense wall punctuated by semi-circular towers. Outside the city, on the right-hand side of the drawing, is the suburb of Necropolis. The entire length of the city is criss-crossed by the Canopic Way. The port is dominated by the lighthouse, visible in the lower section, set between the island of Pharos on the right and the royal buildings on the left. A second port is located on the shore of the lake.
