Front view of the Aïn Argoub wine factory, 3rd-4th c. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The factory is housed in a vast rectangular building, covered by a wooden framework. The different ways of pressing grapes can be seen, with alternating crushers and presses. Several naked figures rhythmically crush grapes in vats. The presses, meanwhile, are operated by workers who pull levers to set a trunk in motion and crush the grape marc. The precious liquid is then collected and poured into basins.
