Presentation :

View of the Aïn Argoub wine factory, 3rd-4th c. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The wine factory is on the left-hand side of the drawing. Presses and crushers alternate on three of the four sides of the building. Vats house the workers who come to crush the grapes. The presses are operated by a lever and stake system. The fourth side of the building is occupied by the cellars. Amphorae and dolia are stored here. The dwelling and stables are on the other side of the courtyard. In the lower right-hand corner, farmhands have harvested the grapes and are sorting them.
