Aerial view of the temple of Sety I at Abydos. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins. Inscriptions can be seen on the reverse.
The temple stands at the center of the drawing. It is surrounded by secondary buildings. It opens with a pylon (or portal) that gives access to a first courtyard with two pools. A raised portico leads to the second courtyard. A second raised portico leads to the temple’s various covered rooms. In the lower right-hand corner, workers on scaffolding are busy decorating the edifice and constructing secondary buildings.
