Front view of the interior of the great temple at Abu Simbel. The drawing is in portrait format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The pronaos is in the foreground. It is adorned with painted decorations and six colossal statues of the king in the attitude of Osiris. In the background is the sanctuary, illuminated by the penetrating light of day. We can make out the four statues installed there, representing Ra-Harakhty, the deified Ramses II, Amun-Ra and Ptah.
